Between 1998 and 2005, Azerbaijani state authorities systematically destroyed the Jugha cemetery in Nakhichevan across multiple documented phases: initial demolitions were reported in 1998; commercial satellite imagery confirmed the complete clearance of the site by 2005. The operation employed heavy machinery, including cranes and bulldozers, to demolish the stone monuments.
