Khachkars

Patrick Donabédian's regional typology identifies the Lake Sevan monastery islands (Sevanavank) and the southern Vayots Dzor region — centered on Noravank — as distinct khachkar schools, each with identifiable proportional systems, border conventions, and stylistic fingerprints. Vayots Dzor, as Momik's primary workplace, yields the richest carver-attribution record of any school.
