Mythology

Tir was the Armenian god of wisdom, writing, and dreams, serving as the divine scribe who recorded human deeds. His cult center stood at Artashat. He corresponds to the Iranian Tiri and the Avestan Tishtrya, and his scribal function made him the patron deity of scholars and writers in the pre-Christian Armenian tradition.
