Armenian Diaspora

Following the 1921 Soviet annexation of Armenia, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation relocated its institutional headquarters to Beirut, where the Lebanese parliament's confessional system gave the diaspora party formal legislative representation. The ARF remains one of the oldest continuously operating political parties in Lebanon, holding seats in every parliament since 1934.
