Armenian Diaspora

The Armenian diaspora is over 1,700 years old: continuously settled communities in Jerusalem (the Armenian Quarter, with its own Patriarchate since 638 AD), Constantinople/Istanbul, Iranian New Julfa (1604–), and Indian Madras and Calcutta (16th century–) all long predate the modern post-1915 Genocide-driven dispersion.
