Armenian Diaspora

From antiquity through the late medieval period, Armenia served as a key Silk Road junction connecting Mesopotamia and Persia with the Caucasus and the Black Sea. Armenian merchant guilds operating from Artashat, Dvin, and later Ani channeled silk, spices, and bullion between Sasanian, Byzantine, and Mongol economic spheres.
