Wine & Viticulture

Armenia's modern wine industry has undergone a remarkable transformation: the number of operational wineries grew from just 25 in 2018 to 150 by 2022 — a sixfold increase in four years. Wine exports surged 56% in value in a single year, reaching $36.4 million in 2022, with Armenia shipping wine to 36 countries. Russia remains the dominant market at 80% of export volume, but producers are actively expanding into the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium — markets signaling growing international appetite for Armenia's ancient wine culture.
