Notable Armenians

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, born in Yerevan in 1989, is Armenia's greatest ever footballer and the national team's all-time top scorer with 32 international goals. He became the first Armenian to win a major European trophy when Manchester United won the 2017 UEFA Europa League — a final in which he scored. He has since played for Arsenal, Roma (where he won the inaugural UEFA Conference League in 2022), and Inter Milan.
