Charles Aznavour (1924–2018), born Shahnour Aznavourian in Paris to Armenian immigrant parents who had fled the Ottoman Empire, recorded over 1,200 songs in nine languages and sold more than 180 million records over a career spanning 75 years. CNN and Time named him Entertainer of the Century in 1998. His 1974 song "She" became one of the most covered songs in modern pop history.
