The Armenian Apostolic Church holds that Christ's human and divine natures are fully and equally present, united into one composite nature — a position called miaphysitism. This is not the heretical monophysitism of Eutyches that holds Christ's humanity was absorbed into his divinity. Joint declarations with Rome (1997) and Constantinople (2001) have formally acknowledged the historical mislabeling.
